IZEV (Istanbul Foundation of Education and Support for Mentally Challenged People) was founded by trustees with mentally challenged children in 1989 as a society and gained charitable foundation status in 1997. Since its foundation, IZEV has worked mostly towards to meet the needs of children with special requirements. The Foundation has founded and continues to support the Saadet Elementary and Vocational School which provides rehabilitation, therapy, pre-school, elementary and professional education services to Mentally-Challenged children and aging 0 to 25. The establishment has been built entirely by the members’ donations and has been granted to the public, and still serves as a public institution.
